After a series of meetings between Youth Time and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Prague, main representatives of both parties Ms. Julia Kinash, President Youth Time International Movement and Mr. Wahono Yulianto, First Secretary for Social and Cultural Affairs of the Embassy of Indonesia in Prague, on Monday 5 September 2016 officially signed a letter of intent on cooperation, for the organization of the Youth Global Forum.
Both parties came to agree that the event will be held in Jakarta from the 24th to the 26th of November 2016 and will bring together 150 to 200 ambitious young people, consisting of students and young professionals from all over the world. The main theme for the event was set at: ‘The Interdependence between Sustainability and Social Entrepreneurship. Creating a Sustainable Environment for Social Development through Tech Innovation’.
Mr. Wahono Yulianto, First Secretary for Social and Cultural Affairs of the Embassy of Indonesia in Prague, emphasized throughout the meetings held in the Youth Time office as well as at the Indonesian embassy, the importance of organizing an event concerning this topic: ‘We hope that by being involved with the organization of this event and thus bringing together the brightest young minds from all over the world in our capital Jakarta, Indonesian youth will be able to learn and get inspired on finding solutions for this urgent matter’.
Ms. Julia Kinash, president of the Youth Time international movement explained the importance of organizing the event in cooperation with the Indonesian counterparts: ‘Organizing an event with an official institution as an Embassy, offers a real example on how the government can support young people achieving their goals in their regular lives’.
The main purpose of the event is to provide an interactive platform for young social innovators to openly communicate, share ideas and experiences with their peers from different cultural backgrounds and regions around the globe. The event will offer an opportunity to connect and engage with social entrepreneurs, as through networking participants can find human support by like-minded people.
Young people from all over the world that are between the age of 18-32 years old, that are particularly interested in sustainability related matters and social enterpreneurship, are encouraged to apply for the event. Application deadline is set at 19 September, 2016.
