Happy Grandma
Happy Granma project inspired by Renu Shakya (Nepal) and supported by Loescher Family has got off to a good start.

The aim of the project is to promote the traditional profession of old women of Nepal via Youth Volunteer and to enhance the well-being of older women using their traditional knowledge of craftsmanship. This is the way how Grandma from a city called Sidhipur, uses her traditional craftsmanship. She makes mats, chairs, baskets, slippers and traditional utensils using straw which she gets after harvesting rice from her own field. This activity goes along with an orientation program that was launched on 11 Dec 2014 in order to share the project to youths of Kathmandu valley and enroll the ones who are truly interested. Renu has already received many positive responses from youth members and you can join the project as well!
