Con­fer­ence on dig­i­tal game-​based learning

The goal of the Con­fer­ence is to pro­vide a floor for delib­er­a­tions on strate­gies, poli­cies and best prac­tices of Infor­ma­tion and com­mu­ni­ca­tions tech­nol­ogy (ICT) appli­ca­tion in edu­ca­tion, as well as on devel­op­ment and imple­men­ta­tion of inno­v­a­tive teach­ing and learn­ing method­olo­gies.

The con­fer­ence is a plat­form for con­struc­tive dia­logue on recent trends and inno­v­a­tive approaches in effi­cient use of ICT in edu­ca­tion among policy-​makers, aca­d­e­mic com­mu­nity, rep­re­sen­ta­tives of the pri­vate sec­tor and poten­tial part­ners.

The con­fer­ence focuses on pol­icy dia­logue with regard to ICT use in edu­ca­tion. The par­tic­i­pants also debate on the poten­tial of ICT and ana­lyze the exist­ing expe­ri­ence in infor­ma­tion resources and tech­nolo­gies appli­ca­tion to ensure acces­si­ble edu­ca­tion for all, includ­ing dis­abled peo­ple, as well as women and girls.

What’s hap­pen­ing now

Con­fer­ence on dig­i­tal game-​based learn­ing «Game ON!» is orga­nized in col­lab­o­ra­tion with Youth Time Move­ment and Lomonosov Moscow State Uni­ver­sity. Now con­fer­ence entered the active phase of its real­iza­tion. We have suc­cess­fully reached agree­ments with the lead­ing uni­ver­si­ties and lead­ing busi­ness com­pa­nies in Rus­sia, who have nec­es­sary expe­ri­ence in the field of gam­ing. The con­fer­ence is expected to become an effi­cient inter­na­tional ground for the inter­ac­tion of edu­ca­tion and busi­ness spheres rep­re­sen­ta­tives, soft­ware man­u­fac­tur­ers, coach prac­ti­tion­ers and students.

Within the Con­fer­ence it is planned to host sev­eral ple­nary ses­sions as well as round­table dis­cus­sions on fol­low­ing issues: «Meth­ods of devel­op­ing inter­ac­tive com­puter tech­nolo­gies in edu­ca­tion», «Appli­ca­tion of gam­ing tech­nolo­gies in busi­ness», «Inter­ac­tive tech­nolo­gies in jour­nal­ism and PR», «Inter­ac­tive tech­nolo­gies in ele­men­tary edu­ca­tion», «Inter­ac­tive tech­nolo­gies in sec­ondary and tech­ni­cal edu­ca­tion», «Speci­ficity of apply­ing gam­ing tech­nolo­gies in uni­ver­sity edu­ca­tion» etc.

Invited experts of the Con­fer­ence are for­eign pro­fes­sion­als in gam­ing tech­nolo­gies in edu­ca­tion such as Maja Pivec, one of the world experts in game mechan­ics in edu­ca­tion, pro­fes­sor of FH JOAN­NEUM Uni­ver­sity of Applied Sci­ences, Aus­tria; Ayelet Weiz­man, an expert in the field of apply­ing gam­ing meth­ods in sci­ence, pro­fes­sor of Israel’s largest Research and Train­ing Cen­ter – the Hebrew Uni­ver­sity of Jerusalem; Maria Kor­daki, an expert in edu­ca­tional com­puter games, pro­fes­sor of the Uni­ver­sity of the Aegean, Greece; Rob van Kra­nen­burg, the project man­ager of «the Inter­net of Things» within the Euro­pean Union pro­gramme, Belgium.

Also we have launched a spe­cial web­site, where you can find all infor­ma­tion about the con­fer­ence. Our face­book page has more than 1200 fol­low­ers (work­ing less than a month), which shows a great inter­est in the event!
